Arranging small intimate weddings is a trend for 2020
Reading an interesting article on “The Knot” about 2020 wedding trends I discovered that one of this year trends is arranging “micro weddings”.
This is nothing new for me, because I often plan this kind of weddings and I absolutely agree with the author of the article that they are very popular, mainly among couples who wish to organize a destination wedding.
There are many reasons why arranging a “micro wedding”, or a “small intimate wedding”, is a good idea, above all if the wedding takes place abroad.
Micro weddings “increase” your budget
Sometimes couples do not have a big budget for their wedding, but wish to arrange it at a place that really means something to them or that lets them realize a dream. This is difficult when there are many guests, because costs for venue and menu increase considerably if you have to invite more than 100 people.
A reduced number of participants, though, offer more opportunities and a wider choice in terms of venues and experiences that newlyweds wish to live on their wedding day.
In some cases it is even possible to offer a really luxury experience to guests, because budget per person is higher when you invite just a few people. Therefore a dream wedding at a venue like Lake Como, one of the most exclusive and consequently expensive places where to get married in Italy, can become a reality! Moreover when you have a bigger budget, a dinner at a fabulous villa, a boat trip or the possibility to have a super entertainment with dancers and performers could not be so impossible. Plenty of opportunities open up in front of you when your budget is not literally devoured by the cost of a large location and a reception for hundreds of people!
Small wedding, big love
A small wedding means inviting only the ones that are truly important to you. So you can involve them in more than one significant moment and spend more time with them during the whole wedding.
When you have a big wedding, it is not easy to talk with everyone or give proper attention to all participants. When the group is small, this is much easier and you can enjoy many moments of happiness with all your guests!
And it is for sure quicker taking group pictures, when your guests are just a few 🙂
Intimate weddings let you focus on what you really want
Personalization is important for many couples, but when you have to organize a big wedding, sometimes it is hard to focus on those details that let you transform a special day in your own special day, making it really unique.
Having a wedding planner and wedding designer is definitely the best way to avoid being overwhelmed by everything that such an important event requires, but also a small intimate wedding can help a lot focusing on those items that let the newlyweds make it really personal, like decorations, flowers, wedding stationary and so on.
